Students and teachers can now get free access to online Weekly Reader issues, quizzes and educational games that utilize a performance-based rewards program from now through August.

The free e-learning program is being offered by It's All About Kids, along with uBoost and Weekly Reader. It is designed to boost academic achievement for 2-12 grade students. The program includes unique state of the art software, like a "Webkinz" pet environment, virtual rock band, and skate board park, to help boost the student's engagement.

Participating students will earn points for their performance that they can redeem for relevant rewards and recognition. Rewards include free and discounted merchandise, gift awards to give to their friends, educational video games, music and other digital downloads. Students can also receive or donate their points to a charity in support of their favorite cause. With education at the core of this program, students who sign up now with permission from their parents, will be set up with a $5 savings account to help promote college planning.

All of this is available by signing up at www.uboost.com at no cost from now until August.

Teachers can also benefit from the uBoost rewards program. The Weekly Reader editions cover interesting current topics and comprehension and vocabulary skills are assessed in the online quizzes. There are also a variety of learning games offered, most focusing on skill-building.

Students who input a designated classroom code given to them by their teachers will be able to join an online "class". The teacher can then monitor the class's progress.
