Honolulu stylist Crystal Pancipanci was called on by the Rachael Ray show to provide a dream makeover for a fortunate fan. The show, which has a theme of weight loss, will air locally at 3 p.m. Tuesday on KGMB 9.

Pancipanci was asked to do hair and makeup for the lucky woman, who had lost more than 100 pounds, so she could reshoot her wedding photos, post-weight-loss, at Turtle Bay.

Since Pancipanci started her beauty and fashion styling company, called Panci, she has worked with the Baraquio sisters on their television show, with local musicians, and with actress Valerie Bertinelli when she shot a commercial for Jenny Craig, beachside on O'ahu.

LOUIS VUITTON LAUNCHES NEVERFULL HANDBAG

Today marks the launch of Louis Vuitton's Neverfull Damier canvas handbag. Hawai'i stores have the exclusive first launch within the North American market, a nod to the importance of our state to the luxury French retail giant.

Damier is French for "checkerboard" and the design dates back to 1888, the first logo for the house of Louis Vuitton. The style is available in three sizes to fit the needs — and proportions — of a range of women.

CUTTING FOR A CAUSE

Six 'Iolani School students, and one teacher, are having their long locks cut at CHOP Salon in Restaurant Row on Monday so that their hair can be donated to Beautiful Lengths, a national organization that supports women who have lost their hair during cancer treatment. The healthy hair is used to craft high-quality wigs.

The CHOP stylists are donating their time and talent for the cause.

"It can be very traumatic when someone with long hair decides to cut it all off," said Kihan, owner of CHOP. "So I applaud these students for going forward with a very noble deed for such a good cause. Our staff is honored to help with such a fabulous event, and we're looking forward to providing great styles and fresh new looks for the volunteers."

The event was organized by 'Iolani student Allison Stitham, whose mother was diagnosed with breast cancer last year.

Others are welcome to donate long locks — pulled into a ponytail, the healthy hair must be at least 8 inches long from the base. Make an appointment with CHOP Salon at 585-7400.

HIFI HOSTS FASHION SHOW

The Hawai'i Fashion Incubator (Hifi) partnered with Flash and Matty Boy Present and Pearl Ultralounge to offer a fashion show during the weekly Candy Bar event at the popular nightclub. The bar was transformed into a runway as models in dramatic hair and makeup (courtesy of W Salon) modeled fashions by local designers.

Jodi Salmonson of KariJane Threads, Toby Portner of Tobyp, John Harper of Herban Development and Katie Bodnyk of State of Mind showed their latest collections to an appreciative crowd. The delicate and feminine jewelry of Zsuzsa Bakonyi-Rodgers accessorized the models.

Hifi is now offering memberships for those interested in fashion in Hawai'i. For details, go to www.hawaiifashion.org.
