Tests will affect water pressure on Maui

Customers in Kahului and Pa'ia may experience low water pressure while Maui Department of Water Supply personnel test the water system in preparation for an upcoming tie-in project.

The test project is scheduled from 9 a.m. today to 9 a.m. Wednesday.

All customers in the Central Maui water system are urged to conserve water by turning off irrigation systems and other nonessential uses of water during that time to will allow the Department to preserve water levels in the storage tanks for health and safety purposes.

The areas affected include Paia, Kuau, Spreckelsville, Kahului, Wailuku, Waiehu, Waihe'e, Waikapu, Ma'alaea, Pu'unene, Kihei, Wailea and Makena.
