The University of Hawai'i will be guaranteed at least $2.3 million per year over the life of what could become a new six-year television agreement with Oceanic Time Warner Cable and KFVE, the school announced today.
The current agreement, which guarantees $1.75 million per year, is scheduled to expire in June.
The new contract is for three years with the intent of doubling it to six years if certain provisions are met, UH said. In such an event, UH would be guaranteed $14.25 million.
UH can earn additional money beyond the guarantee depending upon the success of pay-per-view sales.
UH football season ticket holders will receive a 50 percent discount on a special road pay-per-view package. Fans who purchase their season tickets by July 18 will qualify for the discount, UH said.
