A few more details have emerged about M Resort, the giant casino under construction on Las Vegas Boulevard south of the Strip.

The big news is the announcement of a million-square-foot mall, to be developed and run by Taubman Centers. The mall will be roughly twice the size of the Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian and is projected to be completed in 2011, a year or so after M opens. In addition, M will feature a pool and piazza that includes a 4,000-seat entertainment venue. A 5,000-square-foot wine cellar and tasting room has also been announced for the resort.

NEW JUMBOS: Station Casinos' linked Jumbo Jackpot that paid bonuses to players system-wide has been altered. Whereas one multicasino Jumbo used to be set to hit by $150,000, now the seven Station casinos each have their own Jumbo (and the Fiestas have the Amigo Jackpot) that are programmed to hit before the meter reaches $100,000. Players who have a players card inserted in the casino where the jackpot hits get a minimum of $25 in free play.

PALMS POPS: Megabucks hit for $21 million last week at the Palms. The casino had been running a massive promotion awarding free pulls for the jackpot. At first it was thought that the winner was a promotional pull, but it was later learned that the jackpot was hit at 9:50 a.m., 10 minutes before the free pulls began. It's the third Megabucks jackpot to be hit at the Palms.

DEAL DUMPED: The $10.95 T-bone steak dinner in the coffee shop at the Gold Coast has been discontinued. This great dinner that came with a draft beer debuted for just $5.95 in 1993.
