Police on Wednesday arrested a 12-year-old Makakilo boy who allegedly stole his grandfather's car and pistol.

The alleged thefts were reported at about 10:30 a.m. The gun was stolen from a safe.

Police arrested the youth in the car on Makakilo Drive near Nohohale Street at 2:50 p.m. and recovered a gun.

The youth was booked for auto theft, first-degree theft and driving without a license.
