Big Island infant dies on Oahu

An autopsy is scheduled today to find cause and manner in the death yesterday of an infant from the Big Island at Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children.
The Honolulu Medical Examiner's office identified the infant as Jazmyne Ikeda of Captain Cook. Police have classified the case as an unattended death pending autopsy findings.
The infant was found face down and unconscious wedged between a dresser and the mattress she was sleeping on by her mother Tuesday at 4:15 p.m. The child was taken to Kona Community Hospital and later to Kapi'olani Medical Center, where she died yesterday at 11:01 a.m.
