Verizon Wireless has added a new cellular site on the Big Island that improves 3G coverage and call capacity at the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and Jagger Museum and Observatory.
The recent expansion adds to Verizon Wireless' $17 million investment in Hawai'i so far this year. Nationwide the company has invested nearly $48 billion since it was formed — $5.5 billion on average every year — to increase the coverage and capacity of its national wireless network and to add services.
"Our network expansion in Hawai'i is just another example of how we invest to stay ahead of demand and to make sure that our customers enjoy a superior wireless experience," said Mark Yamauchi, director of sales for Hawai'i.
