No damage reported in morning's earthquake
A mild earthquake rattled portions of the Big Island early yesterday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
The 3.0 magnitude quake occurred about 4:30 a.m., about 10 miles north-northwest of Na'alehu at a depth of 4.3 miles, the USGS said.
Initial reports had put the quake's epicenter about 50 miles southwest of Hilo.
There were no reports of injuries or damage related to the quake.
The quake was reported by the USGS' Hawaiian Volcano Observatory Hawaii National Park.
