Swimming: American Marshall breaks 100m backstroke record

Berlin, Germany � American swimmer Peter Marshall broke his own world record for the 100-meter backstroke on the first day of the short-course World Cup meet in Berlin on Saturday.
Marshall won the 100 backstroke in 49.64 seconds, 0.30 faster than the record he set earlier in the week in Stockholm.
