Two men were charged today with first-degree sex assault in separate cases.

Ernest Kapu, 57, arrested last night at his Kauaopu'u Street residence in Wai'anae, is accused of first-degree sex assault, two counts of second-degree sex assault and fourth-degree sex assault. The victim, a 20-year-old woman, told police she was sexually assaulted yesterday between midnight and 1 a.m. at a Wai'anae residence.

Kapu's bail is $15,000.

Warren Foster Ford, 40, of Akiohala Street was arrested yesterday at 4:35 p.m. at his Enchanted Lakes home and charged today with first-degree sex assault. The complainant is a 31-year-old woman. The alleged sex assault occured yesterday at 8:50 a.m.

Ford is being held in lieu of $25,000 bail.

Both Kapu and Ford have initial appearances tomorrow at District Court.
