A 25-year-old Makiki man is being held in lieu of $1 million bail after being charged today with over 50 offenses stemming from a home-invasion robbery last month in Kaimuki.

Jason Smith of a Liholiho Street address is accused of 10 counts each of first-degree robbery, kidnapping, first-degree burglary, and use of a firearm in commission of a felony plus other offenses. Police are also holding him on three warrants totaling $1,500.

Smith was identified as one of three masked suspects who forced their way into a Kaimuki home at gunpoint at 11 p.m. on Oct. 27. Smith, who apparently removed his mask during the robbery, was identified by one of 10 victims from a photographic lineup, police said.

Smith was arrested Monday by Crime Reduction Unit, Specialized Services Division and Criminal Investigation personnel at 6:50 p.m. at 6640 Hawai'i Kai Drive.

According to police, three men allegedly forced their way into the Kaimuki home, pointed assault-type rifles at a 21-year-old male resident and nine others, and ordered them to the ground, before searching the home. The men fled with undisclosed items from the home.

No injuries were reported.

Two other suspects have not been arrested.
