Friday fire started by tiki torch damaged two homes
A tiki torch near the lanai of a Mililani house started a fire Friday night that caused $300,000 in damage, Honolulu Fire Department Capt. Terry Seelig said yesterday.
Three people escaped without injury from the four-bedroom, one-story house at 95-245 Hoeu St., Seelig said. The fire damaged about half of the house.
The fire also caused $50,000 in damage to the house next door, Seelig said.
Seelig said firefighters got the alarm at 8:06 p.m. and had the fire under control 24 minutes later.
