NFL: Bills QB Edwards hurts groin against 49ers
Associated Press
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Bills quarterback Trent Edwards was sidelined by a groin injury for the start of the second half of Buffalo's game against San Francisco today.
Backup J.P. Losman took over, making his third appearance of the season, in what amounted to a must win for the Bills (6-5) in their bid to stay in the thick of the AFC playoff race.
The Bills didn't go into detail in describing Edwards' injury, except to announce he was out indefinitely. Edwards watched from the sideline while wearing a long dark coat and with a wool cap pulled over his head. Edwards finished the first half 10-of-21 for 112 yards. On his final play, he rolled to his right and completed a 24-yard pass to Josh Reed as time ran out, and with Buffalo trailing 10-0.
