An autopsy was to be performed today on a man arrested by police Friday in 'Ewa Beach.

The Honolulu medical examiner yesterday identified him as Henry L. Mara, 47, of Wai'anae.

Mara, whose criminal record included 17 convictions, was arrested Friday on suspicion of criminal trespass on a commercial property. At the Kapolei police station, Mara complained of pain and was taken to Hawai'i Medical Center-West, where he died at 7:31 p.m.

SAILOR DIES ABOARD SUB, NAVY REPORTS

The Navy said yesterday a sailor assigned to the USS Nebraska died Sept. 20 in an apparent accident while the submarine was conducting operations near O'ahu.

The sailor's name was withheld pending notification of family. The death was under investigation, the Navy said. The Nebraska's home port is Bangor, Wash.

WOMAN, 84, RESCUED AT KA'ENA

Firefighters, ocean safety personnel and police were involved in the rescue yesterday of an 84-year-old woman at Ka'ena Point.

The woman had been reported missing, and Honolulu Fire Department rescue specialists were dispatched at 11:53 a.m., fire Capt. Terry Seelig said.

The woman was found, on land, on the Yokohama Bay side of Ka'ena Point. Two rescue specialists were dropped by the Fire Department helicopter, and the woman was flown out and taken to The Queen's Medical Center, where she was in fair condition, according to police.
