Heart problems blamed in 2 swimming deaths
Preliminary autopsy results indicate heart conditions killed two snorkelers last week in separate incidents in West Maui.
On Sept. 19, Donald Maggini, 55, of Napa, Calif., was found face down in the waters of Honolua Bay. On Saturday, Timothy Raggio of Palmdale, Calif., apparently suffered a heart attack before struggling to shore at the Sheraton Maui and losing consciousness, according to pathologist Dr. Anthony Manoukian.
Both men were pronounced dead at Maui Memorial Medical Center.
