Alexander & Baldwin Inc., the Honolulu-based owner of real estate and Matson Navigation Co., will begin trading on the New York Stock Exchange tomorrow under the AXB symbol.

The company had traded on the Nasdaq Stock Market under the symbol ALEX. The company announced the move to the Big Board earlier this month, saying trading on the world's best-known stock exchange could be an omportant differentiator for its businesses in the coming years.

Shares of the company rose 67 cents to close its trading on the Nasdaq at 44.03. Alexander & Baldwin's representatives are scheduled to ring the NYSE's opening bell on October 23, 2008.
