LIHU'E, Kaua'i — State and federal wildlife agencies are offering a free workshop on conservation on private lands Oct. 9 in Kapa'a.

"Landowner Assistance: Environmental Conservation and Restoration," will cover topics including restoring native forest, improving wildlife habitat and addressing invasive species, said a news release from the state Department of Land and Natural Resources.

The DLNR is co-sponsoring the workshop with the U.S. Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. In addition to staff from the host agencies, specialists from the University of Hawai'i Cooperative Extension Service and the Hawai'i Invasive Species Council will participate.

The workshop will be from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 9 at the Aloha Beach Hotel, Ali'i Room, 3-5920 Kuhio Highway in Kapa'a.
