JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A judge has delayed the trial of a man charged with attempted murder in the September shooting of former Jacksonville Jaguars offensive lineman Richard Collier.
Circuit Judge Mallory D. Cooper scheduled a pretrial hearing for April 21 after the defendant signed a waiver of his right to a speedy trial.
Thirty-three-year-old Tyrone Hartsfield's trial had been scheduled to start April 13. A new start date hasn't yet been set.
Hartsfield is charged with shooting Collier 14 times. The former player is paralyzed from the waist down and his left leg was amputated.
