'Musubi Man' at Oahu libraries through April 29
Advertiser staff
The Honolulu Theatre for Youths adaptation of "Musubi Man," a picture book by Sandi Takayama, will be presented at selected Oahu public libraries through April 29.
"Musubi Man," a local-style version of "The Gingerbread Man," is based on a play written by Lee Cataluna. Like the gingerbread man in the classic tale, the musubi man is determined not to be eaten. He leads his pursuers on a merry chase until reaching the ocean, and must match wits with a surfer.
The surprise ending provides a unique Hawaii twist to the story.
Sponsored by the Friends of the Library of Hawaii, this free 30-minute performance is recommended for children ages 2 to 5.
