CBKB: Villanova assistant Chambers to be new BU coach

BOSTON — Boston University has hired Patrick Chambers, the associate head coach at Villanova, to be the school's next basketball coach.
Chambers will be formally introduced by BU on Wednesday. He succeeds Dennis Wolff, who was fired last month after 15 seasons with the Terriers.
The 37-year-old Chambers came to Villanova in 2004 as director of basketball operations. He became an assistant coach the following season and was named associate head coach under Jay Wright in 2008.
Villanova's hopes for a national title were dashed by an 83-69 loss to North Carolina in the Final Four on Saturday night.
BU finished the season 17-13 and was eliminated by Maryland-Baltimore County in the first round of the America East tournament.
