Tsunami Awareness Month in Hawaii events scheduled
Advertiser Staff
Thankfully, yesterday's earthquake on the Big Island didn't generate a tsunami.
Coincidentally, the quake came in the middle of Tsunami Awareness Month in Hawaii — and several events are still on the calendar.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration will sponsor keiki activites and provide tsunami preparedness materials at the following locations:
— The Iolani Fair on Friday and Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. at the Iolani School campus.
— Molokai Earth Day on Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Mitchell Pauole Community Center.
— Kahala Mall Earth Day on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
— Ocean Day Hawaii, April 25, at Hilo's Pacific Aquaculture & Coastal Resource Center from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
