The Pacific West Conference championships for men's golf will take place Saturday in Roddy Ranch, Calif., outside of San Francisco.
Hawai'i Pacific, Chaminade, Brigham Young-Hawai'i and Hawai'i-Hilo will join Dixie State, Notre Dame de Namur and Grand Canyon in the tournament field.
"All of our golfers have shown they can perform at a high level," said HPU coach Darren Vorderbruegge.
Junior Charlie Renfro and freshman Connor Rumpf have paced the Sea Warriors.
"Both Charlie and Connor have been fantastic in their first seasons with the team," Vorderbruegge said. "I look forward to seeing what they can bring this weekend."
Hilo coach Earl Tamiya said, "as the only opportunity to face everyone in the conference at one location, this is a great opportunity to see where we are when it comes to competing in our conference."
Senior and Baldwin High graduate Stephen Zane has been one of Hilo's top golfers this season.
BYUH will be led by Kyle Kunioka in its run for the title. The senior and Kailua graduate has been the Seasiders' most consistent golfer all season. Chaminade will be led by junior Layne Morita of Kapa'a.
"The team is very excited to be participating in the PacWest Championship. The travel aspect of the Championship is something very new to the team," Chaminade head coach Joey Tadeo said. "I hope the players are able to grow both as golfers and as individuals from this great experience."
