Bolts of Fabric & Fun, Temari's annual ode to textiles, grows each year with more activities, crafts and booths. This year, in addition to adding to your fabric stash, you can watch demos on printing with fabric using 'ohe kapala (bamboo stamps), knitting and crocheting with remnants and wrapping gifts with fabrics.

In addition to fabrics, there will be beads, buttons, threads, yarns, lace, sewing tools, knotted rugs and fabric inks for sale. And keiki can learn, free of charge, to print a hachimaki, or cotton head wrap. The event takes place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. tomorrow at Honpa Hongwanji Social Hall, Pali Highway. Free admission and free parking; 536-4566, temaricenter@temari.com.

MOTHER-DAUGHTER TEA OFFERS SUGAR AND SPICE

A fashion show by Cinnamon Girl will add a touch of spice to an afternoon tea planned for mothers and daughters from 1 to 4 p.m. May 9, in the Veranda at the Moana Surfrider. Informal modeling of Cinnamon Girl fashions will be from 1:30 to 3 p.m. The classic tea menu (finger sandwiches, scones, pastries and tea) will cost $32.50 per adult and $18 per child, including complimentary valet parking or validated self parking. Reservations or information: 921-4600 or www.moanasurfrider.com.

FASHIONISTA'S MARKET HEADS TO MAUI FOR A GIRLS' DAY OUT

The Style Sisters have packed their bags, or rather trunks, and are off to Maui for the popular Fashionista's Market. Their fashion finds will be sold from noon to 6 p.m. tomorrow in the Westin Maui Resort & Spa. Tickets are $12 presale or $15 at the door. Information: www.fashionistasmarket.com.

ON OUR RADAR

As all eyes turn to Hilo and hula, these hula-themed bottle-cap earrings and necklace caught our eye. Created by Aloha Bottle Cap Company on the North Shore, they are cute and kitschy with a fun vintage vibe. They're $20 each at Riches Kahala; 737-3303.
