CARVER, GODING SWIM KAHO'OLAWE TO LANA'I
Two O'ahu residents successfully swam across the 17-mile Kealaikahiki Channel (Kaho'olawe to Lana'i) last week.
Quinn Carver and Bill Goding completed the crossing in 10 hours and 24 minutes and 10 hours and 44 minutes, respectively.
Conditions were overcast with 16 to 25 knot winds, making the crossing challenging.
Both swimmers received support from Jeff Kozlovich, Darrel Carver and Greg Adams. Boat navigation was provided by Maui resident Sidney Akiona.
