LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Kentucky Derby candidates Regal Ransom, Desert Party and Musket Man are looking sharp during workouts at Churchill Downs.
Regal Ransom, winner of the UAE Derby, covered five furlongs in 59.80 while stablemate Desert Party breezed five furlongs in 1:00.20. Both horses are part of the Godolphin Racing stable owned by Dubai ruler Sheik Mohammed.
Musket Man, winner of the Illinois Derby, breezed six furlongs in 1:13 under jockey Eibar Coa.
Godolphin assistant trainer Rick Mettee said it's still unclear whether both colts will run in the May 2 Derby but he was pleased with their work Saturday.
