The Tennessee Titans picked former University of Hawai'i cornerback Ryan Mouton in the third round of the NFL Draft today.

Mouton, who is 5 feet 9 1/8 and weighs 179 pounds, was the 30th pick in the third round and 94th pick overall.

Mouton will report to the Titans Thursday to participate in rookie camp. He is being looked at as a cornerback, nickelback and special-teams player. KIckoff returner? Punt returner?

"Whatever it is, I'm willing to do it," Mouton said.

Mouton said the Titans were nor concerned about the pulled hamstring he suffered during the East-West Shrine Game in January. Mouton aggravated the injury while running the 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine in February and UH Pro Day earlier this month.

"They saw what I could do on tape," Mouton said. "They never questioned my speed."

Mouton's offseason performances collectively had improved his draft status. He played well in January's East-West Shrine Game despite suffering a hamstring injury.

At the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis in February, Mouton, who is 5 feet 9, had a vertical jump of 39 1/2 inches and broad jump of 10 feet 9. He aggravated his left hamstring three-quarters of the way into the 40-yard dash, finishing in an unofficial 4.48 seconds.

At the UH Pro Day in Carson, Calif., Mouton had a broad jump of 11 feet. But he again aggravated his left hamstring halfway through the 40-yard dash. He was timed in 4.42 seconds.

Mouton also returned kicks for Hawai'i, and he intercepted three passes and broke up 15 passes in two seasons.

Yesterday, ex-Warrior defensive end David Veikune was picked by Cleveland in the second round.

Mouton was the Titans' second pick in the third round after they made their first trade of the 2009 NFL Draft, making a move with New England and drafting South Carolina tight end Jared Cook.

The Titans swapped the Patriots their second-round pick in 2010 for the 25th pick in the third and 89th overall.

The 6-foot-4, 246-pound Cook ran the fastest time of any tight end at the NFL Combine. Cook caught 37 passes for 573 yards and three touchdowns.
