AUBURN HILLS, Mich.� The Detroit Pistons have added a veteran NBA coach to help their rookie on the bench.

The Pistons said Monday they have hired Brian Hill to work as an assistant coach on John Kuester�s first staff as an NBA head coach.
Hill�s 36-year career includes leading the Orlando Magic to the 1995 NBA finals and being the Vancouver Grizzlies� first coach. Hill, who is from East Orange, N.J., was the New Jersey Nets� staff the past two seasons.
Kuester is a former Cavaliers assistant. He is the sixth Pistons head coach in the past 10 years.
