All Rainbow Wahine volleyball matches but two are scheduled to be broadcast live on the radio (ESPN 1420) this season. All Hawai'i home matches will be shown on TV, including high definition's debut for those that want to pay.

K5 The Home Team will show the bulk of the Rainbow Wahine home TV broadcasts, but all six matches of the Hawaiian Airlines Wahine Classic (Sept. 3, 5 and 6) are only on the school's Pay-Per-View package. That package includes home football games and a few men's basketball games. Pay-Per-View productions will be in high definition.

All K5 broadcasts will be replayed at 10:30 p.m. the same night, according to UH. Wahine Classic replays will be shown at 10 a.m. the next day on K5.

Scott Robbs will call radio home matches, with Blaine Kauwe doing road matches. Volleyball times conflict with football games Sept. 19 and Nov. 14, so those matches will not be broadcast.

Radio times in Hawai'i for away matches are: 2 p.m., Oct. 1, at Louisiana Tech; 4 p.m., Oct. 3, at New Mexico State; 4 p.m., Oct. 29, at Fresno State; 4 p.m., Oct. 31, at Nevada; 5 p.m., Nov. 2, at San Jose State; 4 p.m., Nov. 12, at Boise State; 4 p.m., Nov. 16, at Utah State.

Long-time UH booster dies: Services were held Sunday for longtime UH booster Joyce Yasuko Morita, from Pearl City. Morita, 69, died Aug. 3 after a battle with cancer. Born in Honolulu, she was a retired U.S. Army budget analyst and volunteered at UH many years, while supporting Rainbow sports with husband Walter. She was a founding member of the Rainbow Wahine Volleyball Booster Club.

"We are really going to miss Joyce," Rainbow Wahine volleyball coach Dave Shoji said. "She did a lot for women's volleyball and women's athletics in general. She was one of the biggest Wahine and Warrior fans, in all sports — always there to help any team."

Metzger gains UCLA Hall of Fame: Olympian and Punahou graduate Stein Metzger will be inducted into the UCLA Hall of Fame. Metzger, 36, has retired from beach volleyball and is moving back home with wife Emily. Metzger and Dax Holdren were fifth at the 2004 Games. At UCLA, Metzger won three NCAA titles and was 1996 national player of the year. On the beach, he won more than $900,000 and 18 tournaments, and was the AVP's top-ranked player in 2005 and 2006.

Kang Tournament on tap: The 27th annual Ann Kang Invitational Volleyball Tournament is this week at 'Iolani School. This year's field includes 11 O'ahu teams, one from Moloka'i and four from the Mainland. Games begin at 9 a.m. tomorrow, with the championship scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Saturday. 'Iolani just beat Troy High School from California to win the Kaua'i Challenge.

Team USA earns World berth: The United States men's national team swept the Dominican Republic, 25-16, 25-19, 25-15, at Irvine, Calif., to qualify for next year's FIVB World Championship in Italy. The United States finished 3-0 in qualifying. Honolulu's Clay Stanley, a Kaiser High and UH alum, had one ace for Team USA. Evan Patak led the United States with 16 points on 10 kills, five aces and one block.
