Team Bradley captures Dad Center women's long distance canoe race

Team Bradley started its 2009 paddling season the same way it ended 2008 — with an impressive victory.
Team Bradley won the Dad Center Long Distance Race for women's teams today in convincing fashion. It completed the 25-mile course from Kailua Beach to the Outrigger Canoe Club in 3 hours, 17 minutes, 36 seconds.
Hui Lanakila placed second in 3:23:55, almost a mile behind Team Bradley. Waikiki Beachboys came in third in 3:25:02.
Team Bradley is the four-time defending champion of the Na Wahine O Ke Kai women's championship race. Last year, Team Bradley won the Na Wahine O Ke Kai in record time.
Team Bradley is a mix of elite paddlers from O'ahu, Maui, Big Island and Kaua'i.
More than 50 women's crews participated in today's race.
Outrigger placed fourth in 3:29:12, and Keahiakahoe was fifth in 3:29:22. All of the paddlers in the Keahiakahoe crew were 40 or older.
