In the beginning, the American Cancer Society�s Boots on the Beach fundraiser was an anniversary celebration, which became a a yearly western-style themed party in Hawaii. Guests don their favorite cowboy outfit, hat and pair of boots.
Cocktails, dinner, games, a silent auction and dancing to the music of Dita Holifield and the Red Handed Band will be featured. This year�s recipient of the Patti Schuler Recognition Award goes to Dita Holifield, a cancer survivor recognized for her many outstanding contributions to the American Cancer Society and the community.
The event takes place Saturday, October 24, at 5:30 p.m. Dinner and program begin at 7 p.m. at the Sheraton Waikiki Ballroom. Tickets are available at the American Cancer Society: $250 to $10,000.
