Traffic disruptions expected from Sept. 6 Kauai Marathon

Kaua�i officials are warning motorists to exercise �extreme caution� on Sept. 6 because of road closures for the inaugural Kaua'i Marathon and Half Marathon, scheduled to begin at 6 a.m.
Drivers are urged to limit or postpone driving around the south shore of Kaua�i from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m.
To accommodate the marathon, the following streets or lanes will be closed:
� Ho�onani Road from Lawa�i Road to Kapili Road � from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m.
� Po'ipu Road between Kapili Road and Ala Kinoiki Road � from 5:30 a.m. to 6:15 a.m.
� Outbound lane of Ala Kinoiki Road � from 5:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
� Southbound lane of Ala Kalanikaumaka Road (Kukui�ula bypass road) � from 6:15 am to 1:30 p.m.
� Outbound lane of Maluhia Road, from Ala Kinoiki Road to Kaumuali�i Highway � from 6:15 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
� Southbound lane of Kaumuali�i Highway � from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
� Inbound lane of Koloa Road � from 6:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
� Makai lane of Papalina Road from Waha Road to Pu�u Road � from 7:15 am to noon.
In addition, the following streets will be closed:
� Oma�o Road from Kaumuali�i Highway to Koloa Road � from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
� �Lauoho Road� from 7:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
� Waha Road � from 7:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
� Pu�u Road � from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Po�ipu roundabout will be open during the marathon but will be heavily affected from 6:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. as runners enter the roundabout from Ala Kalanikaumaka Road (Kukui�ula bypass road) and cross over to Lawa�i Road and then onto Ho�onani Road.
