'Inventing in Hawaii' talk tomorrow

Robert Yonover, author of "Hardcore Inventing in Hawaii," will introduce students and parents to the world of inventing and innovation in a one-hour program set for 3 p.m. tomorrow at the Aina Haina Public Library.
The program will feature a slide presentation and hands-on demonstrations of survival gear that was invented in Hawaii and is currently being used by militaries and civilians worldwide.
Yonover holds a doctorate degree in geochemistry and volcanology from the University of Hawaii School of Ocean & Earth Science Technology.
His high-visibility locating device, the RescueStreamerR, is now in use by all branches of the U.S. military and is credited with saving four lives to date (two civilians and two Americans in combat).
Yonover has appeared on CNN, Discovery Channel, and PBS as an inventor, scientist, and volcanologist.
