City releases list of tourism grants

Honolulu officials today announced a list of the projects that will receive a total of $350,000 from state tourism funds on O�ahu.

Mayor Mufi Hannemann released the list of the Hawaii Tourism Authority�s County Product Enrichment Program grant awards for 2010. The money goes to Hawai�i�s county governments to support events and projects that stimulate and diversify tourism.
Honolulu received 62 applications requesting a total of $1,714,254. Most of the awards were $5,000 to $10,000, although the Mayor's Office of Culture and the Arts received $25,000 to support the Honolulu Family Festival at Magic Island.
�These grant awards help provide residents and visitors with opportunities to enjoy traditional cultural events and unique new experiences,� Hannemann said.
