A man was critically injured last night when he was hit by a vehicle while crossing K�h�pai Street in Kailua.

Police said the accident happened near 157 K�h�pai St. A man believed to be in his 50s was hit by a white Ford SUV about 7:50 p.m.

Police closed K�h�pai Street between Wailepo and Kawainui streets. Police vehicular homicide officers were dispatched to investigate the incident. The road was reopened about 10 p.m.
