NFL: Redskins’ Portis: Concussion isn’t ’career ending’
Associated Press
ASHBURN, Va. — Clinton Portis is confident he will return from the concussion that ended his season early.
The Washington Redskins running back appeared at a charity event Tuesday and was asked about remarks he made last week, when he sounded as if he could be contemplating the end of his career.
Portis replied: “I don’t think for one second this could be career ending.”
Portis said his comments a week ago referred to the possible end of his career with the Redskins. Portis said he expects big changes in the offseason within a team that is currently 4-9.
Portis was injured in a helmet-to-helmet hit against Atlanta on Nov. 8 and has subsequently struggled with vision problems and dizziness. He was placed on injured reserve last week.
