Big Island police warn of lottery scam
Big Island police are warning the public about a telephone lottery scam.
Police said a North Kohala woman reported that she received several phone calls in the last two to three weeks claiming she had won lotteries ranging from $50,000 to $6 million. The caller told her that ito receive her prize, she was required to send $500 to cover taxes.
Police are cautioning the public to beware of unusual requests for money.
