HFD says early-morning blaze at Mililani home intentionally set
Honolulu Fire Department investigators determined a fire this morning that destroyed a Mililani home was intentionally set.
Firefighters arrived at the house fire about 3:34 a.m.
In a statement, HFD said fires in the home at 95-604 Wehewehe Loop were started in the living area and three bedrooms.
The blaze caused an estimated $450,000 in damage to the structure, and $50,000 in damage to its contents.
Police are now investigating the case.
HFD said one person was at home when the fire started and escaped uninjured.
Four people live in the home and they are being assisted by the American Red Cross of Hawaii.
The fire took about 20 minutes to get under control. It was extinguished at 4:54 a.m.
