Trial in Pali Golf Course killings delayed again

Advertiser Staff

The trial of two men charged in the 2004 Pali Golf Course slayings of gangland rivals has been delayed one more time.

Opening statements in the federal racketeering case against Rodney Joseph Jr. and Ethan "Malu" Motta won't be delivered until tomorrow at the earliest.

District Judge Susan Oki Mollway ordered the delay this morning after a member of the jury was excused for undisclosed reasons.

Mollway told lawyers in the case she wanted to pick a replacement juror before the trial starts.

Trial is expected to last six weeks. Mollway wants to have four alternate jurors available to fill in if there are additional losses of regular jurors during the trial.
