TAMPA, Fla. — Backup quarterback Luke McCown re-signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday.
McCown, a fourth-round draft pick of the Cleveland Browns in 2004, has appeared in seven games over four seasons with the Bucs, including three starts in 2007. The 27-year-old also started four games for the Browns as a rookie and has thrown for 1,617 yards, nine touchdowns and 10 interceptions in 12 career games.
"Luke McCown is a talented and athletic quarterback who we have gotten to know well over the last four years," Bucs coach Raheem Morris said. "I know he is looking forward to the opportunity to be an integral part of our quarterback group this season."
