The University of Hawai'i, which is celebrating the 100th anniversary of its inaugural football season, is accepting $50 nonrefundable deposits for new season tickets.
Cost for the seven-home-game 2009 schedule is the same as last season. Deposits for new season tickets can be paid online at HawaiiAthlet ics.com and are for seats in the upper sideline and end zone sections. Current season-ticket holders will be mailed renewal information in March.
Fans placing deposits by March 27 will receive a coupon for four free tickets to a 2009 men's volleyball or baseball game and a coupon from Rainbowtique for 25 percent off UH merchandise. Depositors will also qualify for the chance to win a trip for two to Las Vegas (no purchase required and entry forms for the Las Vegas trip will be available at the Stan Sheriff Center Box Office).
The nonrefundable deposit is per order and not per ticket and can be applied to new season-ticket purchases only. Following the completion of the renewal process in June, fans will be contacted in the order that their deposit was received to secure their seat assignments and finalize payment.
UH played its first football season in 1909 and the 2009 season will be its 93rd year of competition. UH did not play football from 1912-14, 1942-45, and in 1961.
