Slack-key artist Cyril Pahinui talks story at WCC on Thursday

Grammy Award-winning Hawaiian slack key guitarist Cyril Pahinui will kick-off the first in a series of talk-story sessions from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 19 at Paliku Theatre, Windward Community College.
Pahinui will perform signature songs, including "Hi'ilawe" and "He aloha no 'o Honolulu," and share stories about his life and music. The event is free and open to the public. Free parking.
The Talk Story Series was created to promote Hawaiian music events and courses, and to recognize Hawaiian music masters who reside on the Windward side. Ke Kumu Pali, responsible for guiding Hawaiian studies courses and related endeavors at Windward Community College, sponsors the event.
Cyril Pahinui, son of musical legend Gabby Pahinui, is one of Hawai'i's well-known guitarists and singers. Cyril Pahinui has twice played at Carnegie Hall, has contributed to two Grammy Award-winning albums, received several Hoku Hanohano Awards, and recorded on more than 25 Hawaiian musical releases.
