CFB: New Mexico player target of plane ticket probe
Associated Press
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Albuquerque police want to talk to New Mexico starting offensive lineman Sylvester Hatten after a Florida woman reported someone using that name charged a plane ticket on her credit card.
The woman gave Albuquerque police copies of her bill and the flight itinerary, which listed Hatten's name as the passenger.
"The victim says she does not know him and she did not give anyone permission to use the credit card," police spokeswoman Nadine Hamby said.
Investigators had not yet talked to Hatten, Hamby said.
"We'll need to talk to Mr. Hatten if he did make this trip," she said. "Did he use this credit card? Did he have permission to use this credit card?"
The Delta flight left Albuquerque last week for Tallahassee, Fla., which is a dozen miles from Hatten's home town of Quincy, Fla.
UNM athletic director Paul Krebs said he wasn't aware of the issue and would not comment until he had more information.
Authorities have said it appears people in different states used the credit card number, largely for airplane tickets.
