Weather: Sunny today, a few showers tonight

A high-pressure area far north of the islands will continue to provide trade winds through the week, according to the National Weather Service forecast for Hawaii.
The high will strengthen by mid week with winds becoming stronger, the forecast said.
Passing clouds and showers will affect mainly windward and mountain sections.
Here's a more detailed look at what to expect during the middle of the week:
Today: Partly sunny, with a high near 77. East wind between 11 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph.
Tonight: Scattered showers, mainly after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 67. East wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
Wednesday: Isolated showers before noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 77. East wind around 18 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 68. Breezy, with a east wind between 17 and 21 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 76. Breezy, with a east wind around 22 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph.
Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 67. Breezy, with a northeast wind around 23 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph.
