ARTHUR "ART" W. LOWE, 72, of Palm Desert, Calif., died Feb. 18, 2009. Born in Eau Claire, Wis. Investment banker in New York City at Smith Barney; founding partner of Lineberger, Lowe, Inc. In 1972 he moved to Kahuku and took over the sugar plantation, converting it into a hybrid corn seed operation; later helped pioneer shrimp mariculture in Hawai'i, Ecuador and Malaysia.
