Mililani Stadium gets dolby 3-D

 •  3-D ready to take over theaters

Consolidated Theatres has installed the latest 3-D technology at Mililani Stadium 14, just in time for tonight's opening of "Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience."

Believe us when we say this is not your father's 3-D, where the paper Buddy Holly glasses made more of a style statement than a movie impact.

Dolby 3-D Digital Cinema offers sharp, clear images from every angle. Consolidated Theatres recently installed the first Dolby 3-D system on O'ahu at its Ward 16 Theatre in November.

"As 3-D movies become increasingly popular, Consolidated Theatres is committed to investing in providing our guests with the best, cutting-edge 3-D technology currently available," said Rachel Gibson, Consolidated Theatres' promotions and events manager. "3-D has been very successful at our Ward 16 Theatre, and we look forward to continuing to expand this service in our theaters statewide."

Other 3-D movies soon to be released are "Monsters vs. Aliens," tentatively scheduled to open at Ward and Mililani in 3-D on March 27, Pixar's "Up," on May 29, and "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs," on July 1.

Other 3-D projects are also planned, Gibson said.
