Police have opened an attempted-murder case after two men stabbed a 16-year-old boy early Thursday morning in Kalihi.

The youth was standing on the side of the roadwhen twomen in a white Nissan Altima approached him about 1 a.m.

The driver stabbed the victim in the stomach as the passenger challenged the teenager to a fight.

The assailants drove away and the 16-year-old was taken to a hospital, where he was listed in serious condition.
