Vendors at the Aloha Stadium Swap Meet say they're struggling to stay open, with thinner crowds who are looking for deeper and deeper deals.

"A lot of vendors have quit," said Neumann Shim, president of the Swap Meet Vendors Association, and owner of a temporary tattoo stall.

It's unclear just how many vendors have moved on, but some said at least a dozen vendors have closed shop in recent months because of the economic downturn.

At the swap meeting today, many shoppers said they've noticed the thinning crowds.

Sarai Garrett, who came to the swap meet looking for some snacks, said she there are definitely less people at the meet looking for deals.

"It's slow," Garrett said.
