Mandara to operate Mauna Kea spa

The new spa at the recently reopened Mauna Kea Beach Hotel will be operated by Mandara, the fourth in Hawai'i for the the global spa company.
Mandara owner Steiner Leisure Ltd. said the 3,000-square-foot luxury facility will open sometime in March at the resort on the Big Island's Kohala Coast.
Mandara's other Hawai'i spas are at the Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort, also on the South Kohala Coast; the Wailea Beach Marriott Resort on Maui; and the Hilton Hawaiian Village on O'ahu.
The Mauna Kea Beach Hotel reopened last month more than two years after being forced to close by extensive earthquake damage. The Laurance Rockefeller-built beachfront hotel underwent an extensive $150 million renovation.
JIMMY BUFFETT RESTAURANT OPENS FEB. 2
Jimmy Buffett will launch his latest dining and entertainment venture, Jimmy Buffett's at the Beachcomber, in Waikiki Feb. 2.
In the newly renovated Ohana Waikiki Beachcomber hotel, Jimmy Buffett's at the Beachcomber will be a family-friendly restaurant with "a festive island-inspired and vintage Hawaiian vibe."
The 21,000-square-foot restaurant is one of the highlights of the $21 million renovation at Beachcomber.
Opening with Jimmy Buffett's at the Beachcomber will be the Honolulu Surfing Museum, off the hotel lobby. The museum will display surfing artifacts, videos and surf-inspired items from Hawai'i and around the world.
BUILDING, REMODELING SHOW STARTS TODAY
The Building Industry Association of Hawaii will hold the 15th annual Home Building & Remodeling show today through Sunday at the Neal Blaisdell Exhibition Hall.
More than 150 of Hawai'i's top contractors, suppliers and industry experts will take part in the show, which features exhibitor booths and demonstrations.
General admission is $5; four-day passes are available for $7; children under 12 are admitted free with each paid adult; a special $1 admission is available Sunday for those ages 55 and older; $2 discount coupons are available at www.biahawaii.org.
