HANAMA'ULU, Kaua'i — A 17-year-old male juvenile was airlifted to The Queen's Medical Center Thursday afternoon after sustaining serious injuries in a motorcycle crash.
The Hanama'ulu resident was riding a Yamaha dirt bike on Hanama'ulu Road in the vicinity of the Ohia Road junction about 2:55 p.m. when he lost control and struck a hollow tile wall.
He was transported to Wilcox Hospital and later airlifted to The Queen's Medical Center in Honolulu for further treatment.
He was not wearing a helmet, and speed appears to be a factor in the crash, police said.
